Hi, I’m Matt — an impulsive traveller, adventurer, and apparently someone who should never be trusted with a tax refund after a few drinks.

After COVID, my life wasn’t exactly going according to plan. At all. I found myself back at square one, without many people around and with absolutely no idea what to do next.

So, on less than three days’ notice, I made the most important decision of my life:

I drunkenly bought a flight to Thailand.

Now, here’s the thing: I had never really travelled abroad before. Not this far, not somewhere this foreign, and certainly not alone. I did zero research. I had no itinerary and absolutely no clue what I was doing; just a hastily packed backpack full of random shit and a burning desire to see the world.

And I left before I had time to think about it.

This was, hands down, the best decision I’ve ever made.

Since then, I’ve returned to Thailand again and again, backpacked across South and Southeast Asia, climbed mountains in Canada, lived for stretches in places like Bangkok and Koh Tao, and collected more ridiculous stories than I know what to do with.

Off Script is where I tell them.

The misadventures. The incredible people. The questionable life decisions. The nights that went completely off the rails. But also the history, politics, conflicts and cultures that make these places far more interesting than another Top 10 list.

I’m endlessly curious about different people, the places they call home, and the world they live in. I rarely know exactly where I’m going to end up next.

And honestly, I'm just fucking getting started.
